House fire in Houston kills teenage girl

Posted on November 4th, 2010 No Comments

A  two-story home in Northwest Houston caught fire early this morning and tragically took the life of a 14-year old girl.  Firefighters responded to 9-1-1 calls at around 3:30 A.M.

When firefighters responded on the scene, the girl’s family was waiting outside and informed them that she was trapped inside.  Firefighters attempted to climb up a window into the girl’s room but the flames were too intense to get inside the house.  The girl’s mother, father and brother were all treated for smoke inhalation, burns and other minor injuries at a Houston hospital.

By the time firefighters were able to control the fire, the second story of the house had completely collapsed.  Arson investigators from Harris County will be investigating this tragic fire.

Our utmost sympathies go out to the girl’s family and friends.
