UT frat house attic catches fire

Posted on December 10th, 2010 No Comments

This past Tuesday morning, the attic of a UT fraternity house caught fire.  Investigators believe faulty heating equipment caused the blaze.

Firefighters responded to calls about the fire at around 4:20 A.M. at the Delta Epsilon Psi house in the West Campus neighborhood.  Only one resident was unable to evacuate before firefighters arrived.  The one resident was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge for possible smoke inhalation injury.

Firefighters said that the fire was contained to the attic’s insulation.  No estimates have been made yet concerning damage to the frat house.
