In the event of a fire in your home or business, every second counts. In less than 30 seconds a small flame can grow into an uncontrollable blaze. It only takes a few minutes for an average house to fill with smoke. Preparing and practicing a fire escape plan is extremely important.

Develop an escape plan for your home or office and practice the plan every month. It is a good idea to practice escaping from every room in your home. The best escape plans allow for two ways to leave every room. If a primary exit is blocked by fire or smoke, a secondary route like a window, could be a life saver.

Designating a meeting place outside the home is an important part of developing a good escape plan. Choose a meeting location away from the home where everyone can meet. This will ensure nobody is hurt looking for someone who is already safe.

Good fire safety takes practice. A fire alarm and suppression system are vitally important to your safety and the safety of your investments. When you need inspections, repairs, or installation, only the best will do.

A home in Johnson County, Texas was completely destroyed by fire on February 25.

The driver of a truck traveling on Valley View Road near County Road 920 called 911 after observing heavy smoke billowing from a building. Four different fire departments responded to the call. Firefighters reported that the two story house was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived.

A strong wind fanned the flames as firefighters battled the inferno. A lack of fire hydrants in the area also hampered the work of rescuers. The building began to collapse in sections. Firefighters eventually declared the house a lost cause when everything had collapsed but a couple garage walls.

A properly working fire alarm and suppression system are of paramount importance in any building. Please contact the Austin fire alarm experts at Ace Fire Equipment today by calling 512-835-2020.

Police have arrested two men in connection with a series of arson attacks in Texas.

Investigators say 19 year-old Jason Bourque and 21 year-old Daniel George McAllister were arrested Sunday and charged with a single felony arson charge. Police records show that Bourque left graffiti in the bathroom stall of a store; the image depicted an upside-down cross topped by flames, along with the words “Little Hope was Arson.”

The Little Hope Baptist Church was the first of 11 churches that have been torched in Texas since the beginning of the new year.

Police are still investigating the other fires. Attorneys cannot comment on the case due to a gag order.
